Cedar Lake Area Water & Sanitary Sewer District

The Cedar Lake Area Water & Sanitary Sewer District was formed by the Minnesote State Legislature in 1999. It includes residential properties around Cedar Lake in Helena and Cedar Lake  townships in Scott County. The purpose is to remove pollutants that could drain into Cedar lake. The individual septic systems were replaced with resident collection tanks, grinder pumps and piping to the City of New Prague's waste water treatment system. The District is governed by a Board of Directors composed of seven members. Each township appoints two residents, the City of New Prague appoints one Council member and the Scott County Board of Commissioners appoints two to the Board.
Notice regarding service calls from Quality Flow Systems

Silver Maple Bay

The Silver Maple Bay Estates project initially had a Community Soil Treatment System for the planned 39 single family homes. As time passed Helena Township determined that the existing waste water system would not be adequate as the development grew. Hence in Dec., 2014 the waste water system was designed to match that of the Cedar Lake Area WSS District. This increased the number of hook-ups to 364 that the District would be allowed to transmit to New Prague's waste water treatment plant.
